I am native in navigating the Hogan Mainframe environment; I regularly enter to monitor the movement of data as it is being sent from the Presentation Layer to Service Layer and tracking changes at the Data Layer. Additionally, I use Hogan environments (HCIR, PI, Shaw & Fidelity) to condition data for validations on an as needed basis. The benefit is that rather than having to engage the data team, I myself can condition most of the needed data. Lastly, I won't say that I am at the level of a Hogan QA or Data Team Analyst. However, relative to my SVP QA team members I'd have to say that I am the most advanced in navigating Hogan. Therefore there is a strong chance my abilities could be utilized by the SVP Development Team.
My skillset consists of navigating around UNIX/Linux operating systems which consist of: Working with directories, Working with Files, Input/Output Redirection, Pipes, Filters, Processes and performing Jobs.
This website is a testament to my HTML & CSS abilities as that's what holds this website together.
This website also includes some amount of JavaScript, which is an additional testament to my JavaScript abilities. To further my JavaScipt abilities I continue to learn on Codecademy which is a learning site that Scott Miller suggested.
Core Object Oriented Programing concepts around Java are solidified. Real life application of Java is limited to building console applications to print data. However I am currently enrolled into a Java Certificate program at City College of San Francisco.
Although Specifications are incredibly detailed especially for functions with complex logic, I have a knack for reading all documentation and clarifying issues that arise out of design when reconciling to Business Requirements. In addition, it is my pride to act as a Quality Control gatekeeper to monitoring expected and unexpected behaviors and reporting issues when they are not inline with Business Requirements or Specifications.
I can state a substantial amount here, however it would be substanitally biased. But what I will say is that I do believe I have earned just about everyone's respect due to my STRONG Work Ethic. From my time at Wells Fargo I have tackled many difficult issues with much finesse, never compromisiong my quality of work. I have dealt with problems where solutions delivery comes from other application or other groups; upon my requests I have been cognizant of other's workload and always using sensitive verbiage in my requests. I hope that those who've I've worked for see me as having been an asset to the Project(s).
The scope of my work as a Software QA Analyst goes much futher than performing validations on the Presentation Layer. More so I venture into analyze the behavior of the Service Layer acting as a Middleware QA and even analyzing behavior at the Data Layer. It is important to troubleshoot issues to determine where the problem sits before presenting to the overall project.
I'll start off by saying that English is not my first language. However, I have worked dilegently on becoming an effective communicator at the highest level. Always relying on logic, substantiating my positions, and not letting periferal issues cloud my vision. I rely on using professional rhetoric during all project meetings, team meetings and inter office communications.
Having been on SVP as a QA Analyst I have been given many assignments where teammates reside in other time zones such as: (1) India, (2) Arizona, (3) Minnesota, (4) North Carolina. In all instances time zone differences have not been an issue.
The following are IDE's that I have worked with:
Although during my time at SVP QA I have not utilized my querying abilities I have requested that those downstream perform requested queries to compile listing of needed data. For example I requested Select and Join Queries from System of Record DIPR/CM8 during a release to be able to reconcile Hogan to System of Record. Secondly, for a more current project I requested an update query to be performed on the Comman Channel Infrastructure Database to update my Tester ID Safe_Submit & Loan_Originator values.
