The following are the steps to allow you to save your files when you have modified them in Dreamweaver. Once any file in Dreamweaver has been changed the active tab will show an asterysk, and before uploading you'll need to save your document. This is quickly done by the 'save all' function. This is a very simple method of getting your files uploaded to the server, when you have an active tab in the Dreamweaver Design Environment or if you have a file selected in your file view simply click Cntrl + Shift + U, you'll then see a status bar while the file is being uploaded.
You'll notice if you've coded in any other integrated design environment that Dreamweaver's code hinting is somewhat partial. I am used to seeing the code in the code hint and simply clicking enter and it gets inserted into the development environment, I expect to see both tags completed for me. But that's not what you'll get, you can remedy this to a certain degree where you type out the opening tag and the closing tag automatically gets generated. Below are the steps:
